You tapped your feet nervously on the floor as you watched more people board the plane ahead of you. You hated flying more than anything else in the world, but it was the only way to get where you needed to go. You jumped as your phone buzzed. 'Let me know when you land in Japan, I want to come pick you up at the airport myself'. 'That's right,' you thought, 'I'm doing this for him'. Your section was called, you grabbed your backpack and got ready for your approximately nine and a half hour flight. Normally you'd try to keep yourself as distant from Viktor's world as possible, it was what caused you to to get into a fight with him the last time you were together in person. Above all of that you still loved him though. For whatever reason you couldn't seem to refuse this offer; whether it was because you just really missed him, the job offer interested you, or you just wanted to see Japan for the first time you weren't entirely sure. You pulled your book out of your bag and began flipping through the sheets of musical arrangements you had. You knew that you weren't going to be able to chose the exact music until you got there and actually met this Yuuri Katsuki you had already heard so much about, but you could at least get an idea. You couldn't help but wonder why he wanted you of all people to come and work on Yuuri's music, you were sure he had someone who was far more qualified than you were. "He needs something to portray romance, something that will make his audience fall even more in love with him." You say mocking Viktor's voice. "What is he crazy? I don't think I have anything like that, especially not one that's up to par with his programs!" You groaned and let your head fall onto your tray table. What if you couldn't come up with any music? Yuuri wouldn't have anything to skate to and it would be all your fault. No, you can't think like that. Your friend was counting on you to make this happen and you couldn't let him down. You still had nine hours to pull something together, you could do this.

~Time Skip brought to you by Pork Cutlet Bowls~

'Come on, where is my damn suitcase!' You yell in your head. You just needed your last suitcase and you could head out to wait for Viktor. When you saw it appear on the baggage claim you nearly cried out in joy. You grabbed it and began the endless struggle of walking while carrying a backpack, a dufflebag, and rolling two suitcases behind you. You had gotten a text from Viktor about ten minutes ago saying he would be there soon. You made your way out of the airport and sat down on the nearest bench, letting all your bags drop to the ground beside you. You blew a puff of breath into the air, smiling as you watched the cloud swirl in the wind momentarily before disappearing. You pulled out your phone to see if you had any new messages, upon seeing a blank screen you smiled at the image that lit up. You had changed it after you decided you were going to meet Viktor in Japan. It was the last picture the two of you took together. You were both 23 at the time and it was at a New Years Eve party, that was four years ago. It made you sad to think about how rarely you got to see his face anymore. You would text each other almost daily but FaceTime calls were few and far between. "(Y/N)!" You were snapped out of your trance by someone calling your name. Eyes widening you quickly stood up and turned around.

"Viktor!" You exclaimed before breaking into a sprint. He opened his arms for you an you jumped into them, him lifting your from the ground as he hugged you and spun you around. Although you were laughing you couldn't help a few tears from slipping out onto your cheeks, you had just missed him so much that seeing him again and actually getting to feel him hug you overwhelmed you. He pulled back from the hug and upon seeing your tear stained cheeks his expression quickly turned to panic.

"What happened? Are you alright?" He quickly wiped your tears away and you just nodded, hiding your face in your hands as you felt yourself about to cry more. He held you tightly against him and began stroking your hair.

"I'm sorry, I just really missed you Viktor." You sniffed. He kissed your cheek, causing you to blush.

"I missed you too (Y/N), now where are your bags I'll carry them to the car." You began to shrug him off, not wanting him to trouble himself with your luggage. Before you could say anything else, "I'm going to take your bags so don't try to argue with me." You huffed and pointed in the direction of your things. Viktor carried them all with ease, walking you to the car before putting everything neatly in the back. As soon as you got in the car you cranked the heat.

"You think living in Russia as long as I have I'd be used to the cold by now." You laugh. Viktor chuckles, reaching across the consul to take your hand in his.

"Your skin is like ice!" He teases. You laugh, letting your head fall back against the headrest so you could look out the window and take in the scenery. You let your fingers lace with his, smiling at the warmth you now felt as he rubbed his thumb over your knuckles. You had missed this. People would always mistake the two of you as a couple because wherever you went you would always be holding hands, it was just a thing that you did, you believed that it didn't actually mean anything. "I really think you're going to like Japan, there's a lot of things here that make me think of you." You couldn't help but blush at his words, so he was thinking bout you after all. You had to admit it was nice to know that it wasn't a one sided thing.

"I'm sure being here with you will make it enjoyable no matter what." You say glancing over at him, a lazy smile on your lips. The rest of your ride was spent in silence, Viktor still holding onto your hand the entire way. When you got to where you would be staying you couldn't stop your excitement from coming across your features. Victor let out a loud laugh.

"You are so cute." He says bringing the back of your hand to his lips. 'If he keeps making me blush like this people are going to think I'm sick or something.' you say trying to hide your face in your scarf as Viktor runs around to open your door. "Come on, let's go inside and have you meet Yuuri. You walked inside and were instantly met with an excited older woman who you assumed to be Yuuri's mother. She shook your hand vigorously before ushering you inside to warm up. You smiled at her, silently thanking her for her hospitality. You sat down on the floor at a table, a pot of tea in front of you almost instantly. "She's an absolutely amazing cook just for the record, I highly recommend the Pork Cutlet Bowl." You laughed.

"Yeah you were texting me about them, remember." He nodded, letting his eyes scan over you multiple times as you sat there drinking your tea. You heard someone enter the room and Viktor's face instantly lit up.

"Oh Yuuri, come here, I want you to meet my friend (Y/N)! She's going to be the one composing your music." You turn around to finally see the infamous Yuuri Katsuki. You gave him a cute closed eye smile and a small wave. You grabbed your backpack and stood up.

"Would you mind showing me to my room? I'd like to wash up a little bit, I forgot how absolutely disgusting airports are." Yuuri looked at you with a shocked expression. "What?"

"You're not Russian?" You couldn't help but laugh.

"Guess Viktor didn't tell you too much about me then." You looked back at him, he just shrugged, a light blush apparent on his cheeks. "I'm not originally from Russia no, I'm from (country/state). I moved to Russia when I was twenty, I met Viktor about two weeks after I got there."

"And since then she's only gotten more beautiful." Viktor says, giving you a wink. You hid your face in your scarf again to try and hide the fact that you were blushing. Yuuri motioned for you to follow him to the room where you would be staying. You began walking down a hallway.

"Sorry that the room's going to be kind of small, it's all we have available right now, and you're allowed to use the hot spring as much as you want..." Yuuri stopped for a moment. "And just for the record, I know he probably wouldn't want me telling you this but I think you should know, Viktor literally never stops talking about you. He just never mentioned the fact that you weren't originally from Russia. Ever since you told him you would come work on the music for the program I hear at least five things about you every day... He's pretty crazy about you... Anyways, this is your room up here. He's the one across the hall from you." With that Yuuri left you alone to do what you needed to do. You decided to take him up on his offer to go soak in the hot springs for a while, needing the time to unwind from your long trip. Tomorrow you would start working on the music for the program, you would start thinking about love non-stop, and above all else you would be spending majority of your time with Viktor

~Time Skip brought to you by the Yu-Topia Hot Springs~

"Wake up." You groaned as someone gently poked your cheek. "(Y/N), wake up." The sudden feeling of whoever was poking you's breath bouncing off your lips caused you to shoot straight up, smashing your head into the culprit's. When your head finally wasn't pounding and you could see straight you opened your eyes to find Viktor rubbing his forehead. You went to go yell at him but your breath caught in your throat when you realized he was shirtless and he was straddling you in bed. Your face turned bright red at the sight of his perfect form glowing in the morning light. "You have a very hard head you know that?"

"Why are you in my room this early?" You say, suddenly remembering that the sun was barely up yet. He looked out you window before looking back at you with a guilty expression.

"Sorry, I forgot you're not on the same schedule as I am... You're also probably extremely jet-lagged. If you want you can go back to sleep." You shook your head.

"It's fine, I'm all cold now anyways. Might as well get up and get some clothes on." He looked over you, the faintest of smiles coming to his lips.

"I don't know... You look pretty great right now." You laugh off his compliment.

"Just get out so I can get changed." You both smiled at each other for a moment, just enjoying the fact that you could be in each others company so easily again.

"Fine." He says quickly leaning forward and kissing the end of your nose.

"Viktor!" You say unable to hold in a giggle. He winks at you as he walks out of your room, shutting the door behind him to give you some privacy. You got out of bed and stretched before looking through your clothes for something cute yet warm to wear. You decided on a heavy (F/C) sweater, a light blue pair of jeans, and a pair of winter boots. You ran through your hair with your fingers, getting out majority of the knots before heading out to meet Viktor and Yuuri for breakfast. You walked in and everyone who was already awake greeted you cheerfully. You sat down next to Viktor, greeting Yuuri with a very tired 'morning'.

"I told him last night not to wake you up, he apparently didn't hear a word I said." You giggled and you noticed that Viktor blushed.

"It's fine, he's like a little excited puppy. I find it to be quite cute." You say patting the top of his head as if he were a dog. He pours you a cup of coffee and (your favorite food) is/are presented to you proudly.

"I asked them to make it for you, it is still your favorite right?" You nodded eagerly before shoveling it into your mouth a lightning speed. "Nice to know I remembered that one correctly." He chuckles. You must have looked like a deranged animal because Yuuri had a pretty terrified expression. "I hope you guys have plenty of food, (Y/N)'s a girl who can eat if I ever saw one." After you finished eating you went to grab the few pieces of music you thought might work for what Viktor had planned.

"You composed these?" Yuuri asked wide eyes after you played your last piece. You nodded bashfully. "These are incredible!"

"They are really good aren't they. (Y/N), I have one suggestion to make." You turned to give him your full attention. He took your hand in his. "I feel like for the program we should have a song with words."

"Viktor, you know I'm not that great of a lyricist." He leaned forward slightly, causing the gap between the two of you to become even smaller, you felt your cheeks heat up.

"I know you can pull it off." You laughed nervously, letting yourself lean back on your hands so hopefully Viktor wouldn't notice that you had practically stopped breathing. After a while you were brought down to the ice rink so you could watch what Viktor had been planning and you were just as awestruck as you always were when you watched him. The way he effortlessly moved across the ice, perfected the most complicated of jumps without the slightest mistake, he was incredible. "Yuuri, why don't you try?" Viktor says skating over so he was now standing in front of you and him. Yuuri nodded nervously before taking the ice. Viktor exited the rink and hovered over your shoulder. "Still nothing I see."

"Sorry, I just couldn't help but watch you out there... You really are amazing." He smiled at you before placing a hand on the wall on either side of you, keeping you trapped behind him and the barrier. You couldn't stop yourself from being drawn into his warmth, you moved back slightly, letting your body press up against his. As is it were the most normal thing in the world Viktor wrapped his arm around your waist and rested his chin on the top of your head. You watched Yuuri intently as he glided across the ice.

"He's good." You say watching in awe at the intricate step sequence he was performing.

"He is isn't he, but he still needs work." You looked up at him confused, he seemed to be doing excellent from your perspective. As if knowing what you were about to say Viktor said, "just watch." You began to focus on Yuuri again, watching for any sort of misstep or imperfection and you found none. That was up until he started his jumps. The first one was fine, he landed it with ease. The next one he completely wiped out.

"He can't land his quads can he." Viktor nodded, eyes narrowing as he watched Yuuri go through the program again and again.

"Yuuri, why don't we call it a day, you've been working hard enough." He hunches over hyperventilating and muttering out a faint thank you. "Come on, I want to show you something." Viktor says as he takes your hand and begins leading you out of the ice rink. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you as close to him as possible as you walked down the street.

"Where are we going?" You ask, snuggling up to his side to absorb as much body heat as possible, he chuckled.

"You're still as impatient as ever, you'll see when we get there." You continued walking, just enjoying the cool air as you made your way into town. You jumped slightly when someone called out behind you.

"Hey Viktor! Out wooing the ladies I see!" You noticed he was laughing slightly as he let his head drop momentarily before turning around.

"Minako come here, I want you to meet my friend (Y/N)." A look of realization crossing her face she practically sprints over to the two of you. "(Y/N) this is Minako, she owns the dance studio I was telling you about." Your eyes lit up.

"Oh, you're the ballet instructor!" She shook your hand, smiling at you.

"Yep, that's me, and you're the music composer." You nodded. "And can I assume you're our Viktor's girlfriend as well." Both you and him turned bright red.

"No, we're-uh. we're j-just friends." He stammers out, laughing nervously. Minako's eyes shifted between the both of you repeatedly.

"Mhm, sure. Well anyways, I have to go teach a class so I'll be seeing the two of you later." She says smiling at you before continuing on her way, both you and Viktor watched her walk away, still completely stunned by her accusation. You knew you stood absolutely no chance at ever being Viktor's girlfriend so you didn't even bother entertaining the thought. After a few moments of the two of you just standing there you continues on your way again, anxiously waiting to find out what exactly he was going to show you. After a while of walking you ended up in a small outdoor market.

"Remember how when you first moved to Russia I made you try a bunch of weird foods?" You nodded. "Ready to do that again?" Your eyes lit up, Viktor couldn't help but laugh. That was how you and him got to know each other. When you first moved to Russia you met Viktor at this little hole in the wall coffee shop, your table being the only one open he decided to sit down with you and you were instantly drawn in by the sheer amount of charisma he had. After that you talked with him up until the cafe closed, selfishly wishing time would just stop for the two of you. You were trying to come up with any sort of excuse to see him but he beat you to it. He offered to bring you on the best night out on the town you've ever had. You ended up restaurant hopping and just having the best time. Now the two of you were in Japan with a whole slew of new cuisine right in front of you, it would be stupid to miss out on an opportunity like this. You held tightly onto Viktor's hands as you made you way around to the different stalls; trying everything from squid to some strange dessert and back again. By the time you had finished night had fallen, it was freezing outside, and you were ready to pass out on the spot. It seemed to take less time getting back to Yu-topia than it did walking to the market earlier that day when you got back to your room you instantly crashed into bed and passed out. When you woke up it was still dark, you were also freezing. You grabbed your phone off of the nightstand and saw that it was 2:30 in the morning, you spent nearly fifteen minutes trying everything to get yourself warm but everything you seemed to try was failing. You sat up shivering and looked at your door, deciding there was only one option left you made your way out into the hallway. Now standing in front of Viktor's room you found yourself feeling nervous. You knocked hesitantly on the door. "Who is it?" You slid the door open to find Viktor looking very awake sitting in bed reading a book. "Oh, (Y/N), is everything okay?" You nodded.

"I'm just really cold, would it be alright if I stayed in here tonight?" He moved over in his bed before lifting up the blankets. You sleepily got in and covered yourself up, his bed was so much warmer than yours. He clicked off the light before wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you to him. Your heart pounding in your chest you rolled over and cuddled up against him, letting you hold you tightly in his arms. "I'm really glad you asked me to come here." You whisper.

"I am too." He says running a hand through your hair. You two laid there in silence. You found yourself quickly drifting off to sleep, before you were fully unconscious you hear Viktor whisper, "You're a crook you know that?" You let out a questioning hum. You couldn't exactly make out what he said after that, but you could have sworn he said something that sounded like "for stealing my heart." You woke up the next morning with your face pressed up against something firm that smelled really really good, you nuzzled your face against whatever it was in an attempt to block out the sunlight. When whatever you were laying on groaned you shot up realizing it wasn't something you were laying on but someone. 'That's right,' you thought, 'I fell asleep in Viktor's room last night.' You blushed as you realized you were currently laying on top of Viktor, his arms wrapped firmly around your waist. Looking down at his sleeping form you couldn't help but smile, that's when it hit you. You scrambled out of bed, waking him up in the process. "What's happening?!" He says alarmed almost falling out of bed as he wakes up. You rushed into your room, slamming the door shut behind you and ripping one of your notebooks out of your bag. "(Y/N) are you alright?" He calls through the door.

"Yeah I'm fine, I just got inspired is all." You hear him let out a quiet chuckle.

"Alright, do you want me to get you some breakfast?" He asks sweetly.

"No I'm all set, I'll meet you down at the ice rink." You hear him walk away and instantly get to work, it's funny to think all you needed to get an idea was to spend a night with Viktor.

~Time Skip brought to you by Yuri Plisetsky's tiger sweater~

You sprinted into the rink to find Viktor skating by himself. "I finished!" You yelled, he looked over at you and smiled.

"Finally, how about you get on some skates and come show it to me." You paled, letting out a nervous laugh.

"Or you could come over here." He shook his head, refusing to move from his spot in the center of the rink. You let out an unnerved sigh. "Don't you remember what happened the last time you put me on ice skates." Thinking about it made you want to cry. The last time you stepped foot in an ice rink it caused you to break your arm. When you were waiting in the emergency room you completely blew up on him, telling him this was entirely his fault which of course it wasn't. All of that was due to your stubbornness, he knew that, and he refused to leave your side until you were home safely.

"I promise I'll keep you safe this time, I wouldn't be able to deal with myself if I didn't." You looked at him and couldn't manage to argue with the pleading look he was giving you. Eventually you caved, lacing on some skates and walking over to the edge of the barrier. He skated over to you, offering you his hand. You stepped out onto the ice and almost instantly started to fall backwards, Viktor catching you in his arms before pulling you to him. He turned you around and helped you glide around the ice for a few minutes. One hand secured tightly around your waist, the other holding onto your hand. You reached into your pocket and pulled out your phone, turning on the song you had created and letting it play through the empty rink.

"Well maybe I am a crook for stealing your heart away. And maybe I am a crook for not caring for it. Yeah maybe I'm a bad bad bad bad person, well baby I know." As soon as the first couple lines of the song rang out Viktor stopped skating, you could feel his body tense as he continued to hold you close to him. "And these fingertips will never run through your skin, and those bright blue eyes can only meet mine across a room filled with people that are less important than you." He let out a light breathy laugh, knowing that you were talking about him. "Cause you love love love when you know I can't love. You love love love when you know I can't love. You love love love when you know I can't love you." He gave your hand a gentle squeeze. "So I think it's best we both forget before we dwell on it. The way you held me so tight all through the night 'til it was near morning." He turned you around to face him, a desperate expression spread across his face. "Cause you love love love when yo know I can't love. You love love love when you know I can't love. You love love love when you know I can't love you."

"Was that... Was that song about me?" You nodded, unable to look away from his eyes. "Did you mean it?"

"Every word." You say, barely managing to get out the two words. Viktor rested his hand on the side of your face, a small smile slowly coming to his lips. You couldn't take it anymore, you had been hiding the truth from Viktor for seven long years. "I've always loved you Viktor... I don't think there's going to be anything that could change that." You say letting out a small laugh, averting your eyes to the two pairs of ice skates below you. He places two fingers under your chin, lifting your head up so your (E/C) ones were forced to meet his electric blue ones.

"Well that's good... because I've always loved you too." You pushed yourself up to meet his lips, your skates flying out from underneath you in the process which sent you both tumbling down to the ice. You laughed before Viktor placed a hand on the back of your head and crushed his lips against yours again. You loved him, you always had and you always will. Now you had the joy of completely rediscovering him, and you got to tell people the story of how a crook and a prince fell in love.

AHHHHH I'M IN LOVE ;_; this story is so sweet- and I love that you took the time to weave out the reader's past with Viktor!
