Mistletoe (Levi X Reader)

"Come on Kirschtein try that again! I will put you in the fucking ground if you try to grab my ass one more time!" You yell as you fight against Mikasa and Eren restraining you from destroying one horse faced pervert that thought it would be funny to slap your ass as you walked by his table. You had already successfully backed Jean into a corner and was about to finish him off when your friends came by to stop you.

"(Y/N) let it go, he's not worth it!" Eren yells as he attempts to pull you back.

"What exactly is going on here." You hear the familiar voice of Levi snap next to you. Eren explained what happened and you swore the entire room just got colder. "Jean you're on fireplace clean up for the next two months." Jean went to go argue but Levi glared at him. "Unless you want to deal with me personally that is." Jean turned the same colour as the snow outside at the sound of Levi's threat. Without saying another word the corporal turned on his heels and left the dining hall. You stood there confused and Jean took the opening to scamper away.

"What was that all about?" You ask turning to look at the door the corporal just left through. You noticed out of the corner of your eye that Eren and Mikasa exchanged a look. "What?"

"Nothing, just something we were talking about earlier." Mikasa says calmly, trying to clear the subject. You glance between the two of them before staring down Eren due to the fact you knew it wouldn't take much for him to slip.

"Alright fine, we think that Levi might have a thing for you." Your eyes widened. They couldn't possibly know- "And we think you have a thing for him too." shit.

"W-what are you talking about. Me? Have a thing for one of my superior officers? That's absolutely absurd!" You say trying desperately to hide the fact that they were right. If you were being honest you have had a thing for Captain Levi since you joined the Scouts. He was always so strong, honest, not to mention he was just all around amazing. At first you were in complete denial about it, especially since you thought that you fell for Levi because he was such an incredible soldier. That was up until Commander Erwin gave you some one on one training time with him. Gaining both physical and even some emotional closeness to him made you realize that there really wasn't an aspect of him you didn't like. You were one of the only people that knew all the turmoil that Levi had gone through since Erwin had made him join the Survey Corps, that in and of itself was an accomplishment.

"Alright, if you say so. We're going to grab lunch before Sasha eats it all." You nodded to your friends.

"I'll see you guys later, I think I'm going to go for a walk." You say before quickly exiting the dining hall, not giving them time to respond. You found yourself aimlessly wandering the halls that were spread out almost endlessly in front of you. Having your base in a castle definitely had its perks. Eventually after a while you stumbled upon Levi who was furiously cleaning out in the hallway in front of his office. You leaned up against the wall. "You should have just had Jean take care of this too. It would be less work for you." Levi's eyes shot up to look at you, he relaxed when he realizes who you are.

"Not necessarily because then I would have to re-clean everything myself." He says cracking the faintest of smiles. You laugh taking a step closer to him.

"Very true... Do you want any help?" He shook his head.

"No, I'm just about done anyways." He says before turning his attention back to scrubbing the floor.

"Alright, I'll see you later Levi." You say turning to go in the other direction so you wouldn't walk over his freshly cleaned floor. You could feel eyes on you and thanks to the briefest of glances behind you, you were met with the sight of the corporal's dark eyes scanning over you as you walked away. You smiled to yourself as you thought about maybe one day telling him how you felt. You quickly shook the idea off knowing that every day wasn't guaranteed and that there was a chance that any day Levi could be taken away from you forever or you would be gone before you had the chance to say anything. The rest of your day after that went on as normal, filled with training, proving that you could hold your own when it came to hand to hand combat, and waiting for tonight's Christmas Eve feast. You had just successfully put Reiner to the ground for the third time in a row when dinner was called. As soon as you entered the dining hall you were sought out by Hanji.

"Oh, (Y/N), over here!" You walked over to her, the smile she was giving you a completely different kind of crazy compared to what you were used to. "Captain Levi has ordered you down to his office." You sighed, by the time you get back there won't be any food left for you, and you had been looking forward to tonight for weeks. You nodded your head and began the long walk to the Lance Corporal's office. When you got to his door you stood outside for a few moments, adjusting your uniform and making sure your hair looked presentable. You tapped softly on the door.

"Name and business." His usual blank voice states through the door.

"Cadet (Y/L/N), you asked me to come down sir." There was the sound of something crashing to the floor, followed by Levi swearing, and finally the door getting thrown open. You looked at him and you couldn't stop a small giggle from escaping your lips. "Your cravat's crooked. Do you mind?" He stood there, posture completely rigid as you reached out and fixed the fabric that hung around his neck. After you were done you gave him a cute smile. "There, much better. Now can I know why you called me down here?" He moved to the side to reveal a small table with two chairs, a candle in the middle, and a vase of flowers that had been smashed on the floor. Also on the table was a vast array of foods that were currently down at the dining hall

"I usually eat dinner in here and I don't feel comfortable leaving you alone with that fucking pervert Jean until a formal punishment has been issued. I heard you talking about how excited you were for the banquet so I hope you don't mind having one with just the two of us." He ushered you inside, you happily accepted his request. He pulled out your chair for you and you had to admit you were pretty impressed at how much of an gentleman he was being. He sat down across the table from you and awkwardly cleared his throat, pouring you a cup of tea. "Two sugars, right?"

"Yeah." You say, slightly surprised that he remembered something as small as that. You looked around the room, everything was absolutely spotless as usual and the room was also surprisingly festive. Your eyes turned back to the man that was sitting across from you. As soon as you looked over at him he quickly adverted his gaze to the table. "So you thought that cleaning the fireplaces for two months wasn't enough punishment, huh?" He nodded.

"If it wasn't for the fact that the entire regiment was in the dining hall I probably would have fucking killed him right there. Promise me if he ever tries anything like that ever again you'll tell me, the bastard needs to be kept in his place." You notice that Levi was clutching a knife in his hand so tight that his knuckled were turning white. You reached across the table and gently rested your hand on his. You felt the muscles in his hand relax as he carefully set the knife down on the table. He looks up at you with an apologetic expression showing through his usually stoic one. "I just can't stand the thought of him or any other guy laying their hands on you." You blushed before studying his face for a few moments and the one expression you could definitely make out was jealousy. It was hard to tell exactly what Levi was thinking or feeling due to the fact that the man was a statue, yet you somehow managed to find all of the little hints that lead you to finding out what was going on in his head.

"Well I have no problem coming here to eat with you. It's nice with just the two of us alone like this." The rest of your meal was filled with pleasant conversation. Talking about how things were going with the both of you, what you both were up to, and most importantly Christmas. "I'm so excited that tomorrow's Christmas, it feels like it's been decades since last year."

"Is there anything specific you want as a gift?" You blushed as one thought crossed through your mind, 'Yeah, I want you for Christmas Levi.' You shook your head.

"It's stupid." You say trying to wave him off.

"Come on, tell me." He says resting his elbows on the table to lean forward slightly. Your blush darkened.

"W-well, it's just... I've had this dream for a while that on Christmas day, I would get a kiss from the guy I've been secretly in love with for years under the mistletoe." You say dreamily. He stared at you for a moment. "See, I told you it was stupid."

"No, it's not." He says adverting his eyes to the table again, making an attempt to hide the fact that he was getting flustered. Was he blushing? "I don't think we have any mistletoe around here aside from the one hanging in the window over there." You looked over to where he was motioning, and in fact there was some mistletoe hanging by the window. Levi got up, walked over to the window and untied it before walking back over to the table and handing you the plant. "Here, to make your wish this year come true." You were tempted to stand up and hold the mistletoe over your heads to see what he would do, and you were about to follow through when Hanji came bursting into the room.

"Sorry to interrupt your time alone with (Y/N) captain but I just got some results you're going to want to see!" She sings out, waving a folder through the air. He looked down at you who was beginning to get out of your chair and then back over to Hanji who was giving him an urgent look.

"I'll be down there in a minute, I'm going to walk (Y/N) back to her room first." A wide grin grew on Hanji's face. She lifted her hand and pointed at the two of you.

"Are you two a couple now?" Both you and Levi turned bright red.

"Tch, don't be ridiculous, I just don't want those fucking heathens they call soldiers to do anything to her." With that said he grabbed you firmly by the hand and pulled you in the direction of your room, loosing Hanji before she could say anything else. Even after she was long gone Levi still held tightly onto your hand.

"Heichou..." You say trying to grab his attention. He looks back at you and realizes he's still holding onto your hand. He drops your hand before running his own through his raven locks. He slowed down to make it easier for you to keep up with him. You were walking close enough to him that your hands kept brushing, your cheeks tinting pink at the slight contact. You walked in silence the rest of the way back to your room, getting there at the exact same time as Mikasa and Sasha. They eyed you and the corporal curiously, now knowing where you disappeared to. They walked inside ahead of you and you turned to face Levi. "I had a really nice time."

"Likewise... I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow then." He says shifting awkwardly. You nodded and gave him a sweet smile.

"Can't wait. Have fun with Hanji's data." He shot you a look that made you giggle. "Goodnight Heichou."

"Goodnight Cadet (L/N)." He says before walking down to Hanji's lab. You walk into your room and fall back on your bed with a delighted sigh.

"So what was that all about?" You sat up to see Sasha and Mikasa staring at you.

"Yeah why were you gone all night, and more importantly what were you doing with the corporal... You two didn't-"

"No, I know what what you're going to ask and the answer is no. We were both in his office, a solid two feet away from each other the entire time, and we both remained entirely clothed." You ran your thumb over the mistletoe that you were still holding in your hand. "But I do need to ask you guys about something." They both moved over to your side of the room, sitting down on your bed next to you. When you showed them the mistletoe they both looked at it with a confused expression. "I told Levi that I had been dreaming of kissing the guy I had secretly been in love with for years under the mistletoe, that was what I wanted for Christmas. For whatever reason this was in his office and he gave it to me to make my wish come true this year."

"Who's the guy you've secretly been in love with?" Sasha asks, eyes growing wide. You mumbled the corporals name, just loud enough for them to hear and then they both started squealing. "We knew you had a thing for him, (Y/N) why didn't you tell us? You and Levi would be perfect together! It's official, tomorrow we are going to make sure you get that kiss from the corporal, not matter what it takes!" You ran a hand through your hair. Tomorrow was definitely going to be a long day.

"You were woken up the next morning by Sasha vigorously shaking you, you buried your head deeper into the pillow you were currently cuddling just wanting another five minutes of sleep. "(Y/N) get up! There's gifts for all of us in the dining hall!" She pulled you out of bed and you barely managed to grab your slippers and robe before you were ripped out of the room. When you were finally in the dining hall you stepped into your slippers and pulled your robe tightly around you.

"I told her to let you sleep." You turn to find Levi who was looking almost as tired as you felt. "Guess we were both woken up against our wills today." He jokes.

"Yeah, but at least we can go back to sleep after." He nodded before handing you a cup of coffee. You smiled to thank him. You sat on one of the tables, Levi taking his place next to you as you watched everyone excitedly open the gift they got. You were guessing Commander Erwin went out and got everybody a little something to try and boost everyone's spirits. Connie walked over to where you were sitting.

"(Y/N) this one's for you." You take the small box out of his hand. Upon opening it you find a small bronze locket which you clicked open to reveal a picture of you and Levi after you were accepted into the Scouts. You smiled down at it before carefully shutting it again.

"Do you want some help putting that on?" You hand the locket to Levi who carefully puts it on you, the feeling on his fingers ghosting over your skin sent a shiver down your spine. "There." He says moving your hair back to where it was before. "Gorgeous." You look back at him over your shoulder and almost instantly get stuck in a trance caused by how close his face was to yours. He reached out and pushed some stray hair behind your ear. Your breath was coming out in short, shaky bursts as Levi's steel grey eyes stared intently into your (E/C) ones. He started to inch his face closer to yours, he was close enough now where you could feel his warm breath on your lips. This was it, you were going to kiss Levi. At least that's what you thought anyways. One moment everything was going perfectly, the next you were sent crashing to the floor as Jean tackled Eren into the table you and the Corporal were sitting on which sent you flying off and your hot coffee splashing onto Levi. Jean looked up at his superior, fear growing across his face. Anyone could tell that Levi was furious at this point, you actually could have sworn you heard him growl at Jean. Before Levi had the chance to physically harm Jean Erwin walked into the dining hall wanting to know what the fuss was all about. If it hadn't been such a serious situation you would have burst out laughing at the sight of your Commander in his blue striped pajamas with a teddy bear clutched in one hand. Levi yanked Jean up from the floor by the scruff of his neck and shoved him in the direction of Erwin, the Commander calmly lead him out. "Are you alright?" He asks helping you up from the floor.

"I'm fine Levi, thanks." You say taking the hand he held out to you. Commander Erwin appeared in the door way with Jean cowering behind him.

"Levi, would you like to take care of Jean." The Corporal smirked, cracking his knuckles as he began walking towards the door.

"With pleasure Commander." You watched him leave, blushing as you remembered how close the two of you were just moments ago.

"Aw come on! What was that?" Sasha yells throwing something at Connie who yelps when he gets hit by it. "He was right there!"

"Looks like we're going to have to come up with a different plan." You heard the agonized screams of Jean getting his ass handed to him outside. "And it looks like we have time since the corporal has decided to kill horse face." Eren looked between Mikasa, Sasha, and yourself curiously as he tried to figure out what was going on. You reached up and gripped the new locket that hung around your neck tightly. The fact that Mikasa and Sasha were teaming up to come up with a plan scared you more than any of the missions you had been on, both of them could be pretty reckless when it came to other peoples love lives. This should be interesting.

You gulped nervously as you stood outside of Levi's office. Sasha and Mikasa had decided that since it was Christmas AND the Corporal's birthday that you should pay him a little visit. You were told to make him a cake, which was simple enough for you, then you were to bring it down to his office and stay with him for a while and eventually get him to leave the room with you. Mikasa and Sasha were going to take care of the rest. So now you were standing in front of the large wooden door holding the most perfect cake you had ever made in your life. You tapped gently on the door. "Name and business." You swallowed.

"C-cadet (Y/L/N), I brought something for you." The door was gently opened a few moments later. Levi looked at you before letting his eyes drop to what you were holding in your hands. "Happy birthday Heichou." You say giving him a small smile. His eyes grew wide at the gesture, considering that you knew you were the first one to say anything to him about it being his birthday today since everyone was so focused on it being Christmas. "I hope you like chocolate and raspberry." You say shrugging slightly. You decided on making him a chocolate cake with a raspberry filling and buttercream frosting, all of which you whipped up from scratch.

"Y-you made this for me?" He asks hesitantly taking the plate from you. You nodded, following him inside his office and shutting the door behind you. You sat in one of the chairs across from his own at his desk. He set the cake down on his desk before sitting in his chair and just staring at it for a minute. His eyes slowly looked back up at you. "Thank you, I think you're the only person to remember that today is my birthday. Do you want a piece?" You shrugged and nodded, might as well indulge in all of your hard work. You sat there and peacefully at your cake, the only thing breaking the silence were Levi's occasional praises about how this was the best cake he's ever had in his life.

"I take it you like the locket." He says staring at it ans your fidgeted with it.

"Yeah, it's beautiful." You say with a smile opening it to look at the picture inside again.

"I knew it would look even more gorgeous on you than it did in the store window." Your eyes widened. Does that mean- "Erwin had me buy your gift, he knew I would get you something you would like. I guess I made the right decision." You blushed and continued to fidget with the locket, the entire time a wide grin plastered on your face. After a while Levi decided to brew some tea and you watched him closely, just wanting to get a perfect mental image of him. It was then that you noticed that his hands were bandaged, you rushed over to his side and took one of his hands in your own.

"What happened?" You asked alarmed.

"Oh, when I punched Jean earlier my knuckles split open, it's not a big deal." You sighed, running your thumb gently over his bandaged knuckles before going to sit back down. He set your tea down in front of you and took hi seat across from you.

"I know that you're trying to stand up for me and everything, and that's real sweet of you, but Levi it's not worth hurting yourself over. You took a sip of your tea and upon looking over your cup at him you found him staring at you and smiling. At the sight of the rare occurrence you went to gasp but ended up choking on your drink, now coughing uncontrollably. 'Damn he has one amazing smile,' you think as you try to regain your composure. After you were finally able to breath again you took a bite of your cake.

"You have some frosting on you." You wiped around your mouth and he just shook his head. "No, right here." He says leaning over his desk and running his thumb over your bottom lip before sticking it in his mouth causing your face to go a hundred shades of red. Before you had time to say anything else there was a thud outside of Levi's door. You got up to go open it, the corporal not that far behind. You opened the door to come face to face with Connie, who was currently holding mistletoe in his hand over your heads. He laughed.

"Well, looks like I got you under the mistletoe (Y/-" He stopped halfway through your name when he saw Levi standing behind you. You looked back at him and found that he was wearing a rather murderous expression. Connie made a run for it. "I swear, it was hanging above your door when I got there!" He rounded the corner and then there was aloud crash. You ran off to see what happened, leaving Levi a confused mess in his office doorway. When you caught up to where the noise came from both Connie and Sasha were on the floor surrounded by what was a basket of food. Sasha picked up a loaf of bread and chucked it at him.

"Connie you idiot you ruined my plan!" She yells.

"That was you that left the fucking mistletoe above his door wasn't it?" She got up.

"Yep." She says with a smile. You smack your hand against your forehead. Her smile quickly turned to a look of anger. "But this idiot had to go and mess everything up!" You groaned and stomped away, this was absolutely hopeless. You were beginning to doubt if getting a kiss from Levi was even possible.

You pulled your hood tighter around you to try and block out some of the harsh wind that blew by you. You went for a walk to try and get your thoughts in order, after Sasha's last attempt you were just kind of pissed off by the whole process. You saw the base come into view and instantly sped your pace up, you were absolutely freezing. As soon as you entered into the front entryway you instantly warmed up, almost if not all of the fireplaces must be going for it for be this warm in here. You stripped out of your jacket. "Hey." You hear someone quietly say behind you. You turned around to see Levi. "I-uh, I've been looking for you. There's something I need to say." He says, averting his gaze to the floor. "But how about you get warmed up first, you look cold." You smiled, walking in front of him after he motioned in the direction of the dining hall. He held the back of his hand up to your flushed cheek. "How long were you outside, you feel like a fucking icicle!" He says after recoiling his hand, warmth from it still lingering on you cheek.

"A couple hours. I had a lot of things on my mind." You say turning to walk backwards. He nodded, not trying to pry any further. You could tell you were almost at the dining hall by the pleasant chatter coming from a little further down the hall. You, still walking backwards, neglected to think that anything could possibly go wrong. How wrong you were. There was a spot right in front of the entrance to the dining hall that for whatever reason was wet, causing the stone floor to be very slippery. As soon as your boots hit the wet spot you were falling backwards, you reached out and grabbed onto Levi at a chance to remain upright but that didn't work out in your fever either. You only managed to pull him down along with you. You both hit the floor with a loud thud and a series of groans, you could tell that everyone's eyes were on you from the now deafening silence in the dining hall. "Sorry about that." You groan out. Levi gets off you, laughing a real genuine laugh as he helps you up.

"Are you alright.?" He asks, steadying you by your shoulders when you almost lose your balance again. You nod, your breath being taken away by the sight of a smile on his lips.

"Hey look, (Y/N) and the corporal are under the mistletoe!" You hear someone call out. There was a chorus of 'oohs' from the dining hall. Yours and Levi's eyes simultaneously looked up to reveal that you were in fact standing under the mistletoe. You blushed and upon looking back at him you found that he was blushing too. You could faintly hear someone starting to chant the word 'kiss' over and over again, it increasingly getting louder each time.

"Levi, remember how I told you my Christmas wish was to be kissed under the mistletoe by the guy I had been secretly in love with for years?" You say resting your arms on his shoulders. He nodded. "Well that guy I was talking about... he's you, Levi." Levi wrapped his arms around your waist and pressed you flush against him, your blush darkening due to the fact that you knew everyone was watching intently, the room fell silent again. You could smell the Corporal's cologne as he held you close against him. He slowly began to inch his face towards yours, waiting for you to meet halfway. You paused, looking deeply into his eyes that were filled with hope. "I love you Levi." You practically whisper.

"I-I love you too (Y/N)." He says breaking into another breath taking smile. You both continued to stand there, your lips painfully close to each other. You couldn't take it anymore you took Levi by the collar and crushed his lips to yours in the most heated passionate kiss you had ever had in your entire life, the room irrupting into cheers as you did so. Both of you instantly melted into the kiss, your hands wandering over each others bodies as your tongues danced together. You both separated breathlessly, smiles gracing your lips as you rested your foreheads together. "Merry Christmas (Y/N)."

"Happy Birthday Levi." You say before kissing him again, the chorus of cheers continuing long after you were done.
